This is the story of the prosecution/persecution of the ASIS agent known as Witness K, and K’s lawyer Bernard Collaery, for exposing the authorised 2004 bugging of Government offices of a friendly, neighbouring country (Timor L’Este), for the purpose of gaining commercial advantage in negotiations over the oil & gas fields in the Timor Sea.
